JOHANNESBURG – The “lacking” Fourways hippo is alive, perfectly and back at its purely natural habitat, opposite to social media claims that it experienced been captured and slaughtered for its meat.

On Monday, images of a hippo being slaughtered circulated on social media, with claims it was the Fourways hippo.

“The hippo that was spotted in Chartwell at the end of December is not missing. It has gone back again to its initial habitat (Hartbeespoort Dam) and this was uncovered with the assistance of the technological know-how applied by Endangering Wildlife Rely on (EWT).
